The Amargosa Hotel and Opera House, located on Highway 127 in Death Valley Junction, was once the local headquarters of the Pacific Borax Company. On Easter of 1966, the renovation and transformation of this unique and historic adobe complex began, to become the home and performance space of legendary Marta Becket, dancer, painter and author. The Amargosa Café is a new feature, offering great meals and old fashioned atmosphere from 7 am to 8 pm daily (closes at 4 pm on Sunday) at this scenic and historic landmark.
